Transformation in Schools (Part 1)

 The act or process of changing completely is called as Transformation. Business transformation is a change management strategy which defines any shift, realignment or fundamental change in business operations. The aim is to integrate processes, people, systems to better align the organization with its business strategy and vision.

There are 3 types of Business Transformation that can be made:

a.    Operational Transformation

b.   Core Transformation and

c.    Strategic Transformation

Operational transformation is making changes to the way you do things to make operations better, faster, cost effective and transparent.

Core transformation is moving to a fundamentally different way of operating or changing the business model.

Strategic transformation refers to changing the very essence of the organization to a new focus.

Factors that Drive Transformation:

An organization may choose to undergo transformation due to multiple reasons and the most important of all of them is the ability to adapt with change.

The ability to adapt with change is crucial for those who want to ensure a competitive advantage is the driving need for transformation in their schools, colleges and organizations.

Part 3: Case Study : Our Project At A client School

This is our case study on our project in a client school. 

Challenges Our School Client faced!

  1. Complete chaos
  2. Office Politics / Gossiping / Office staff and teachers had constant clashes
  3. Staff not reporting on time
  4. Syllabus not completed on time
  5. - Teachers not taking classes properly, classwork n homework corrections are not done by staff
  6. Management was literally fire fighting every day solving problems and complaints

Details of the Project

  1. Time duration : 10 months
  2. Previous year : school had planned 200 admissions but only 50 new admissions happened.
  3. Delay in timely decision making from management. 

Metrics and Controls Created:

         Created 5 key committees with responsibilities allotted to different members to drive problem solving in daily issues.

         Holistic evaluation system which held each person accountable for their role. Connecting performance to salary, LOPs, incentives.

         The management was able to monitor the school function even remotely.

         A simple yet Holistic Student portfolio assessment  was developed for the client’s school.

Previous academic year the school had only 50 new admissions and after our project the same school had 250 applications already sold by month of Feb and good admissions despite the pandemic.
